

n 1990, the Harvard Mahoney Neuroscience Institute began
holding public forums on the progress of brain research. "Dialogues on the
Brain," sixth in the series, took place at the Harvard Medical School in
Boston.
Participating in the dialogues were Drs. Marilyn Albert and Huntington Potter (Memory Loss, Aging, and Alzheimer's Disease); Howard Shaffer and Steven Hyman (Drugs and the Brain); and Edward Cassem and Joseph Coyle (Depression). A panel of science reporters--Anastasia Toufexis of Time magazine, Nils Bruzelius of The Boston Globe, and Paul Raeburn of the Associated Press--questioned the speakers. Audience questions followed the presentations.
