The Milbank Memorial Fund is an endowed national foundation that supports
nonpartisan analysis, study, and research on significant issues in health
policy. The Fund often makes available the results of its work in pamphlets
and books, as well as publishing the Milbank
Quarterly.
Most of the Fund's work is collaborative with decision-makers in the
public and private sectors. The Fund currently emphasizes work in clinical
policy (caring for patients), organizing and financing policy (governing
the health system and paying for care), and public health policy (community
responsibility for health). The Fund's projects are not supported by grants
in the traditional sense. Instead, individuals and partner institutions
join the Fund in contributing time and other resources.
