Harvard PhD Program in Virology Retreat

2011 Retreat Program

At the annual Harvard Virology Retreat students and faculty of the Harvard Virology Program are invited to share their research. Completely student-run, the Retreat features a two-day series of talks by students and faculty, a poster session, and keynote lecture by a speaker selected by the students. In addition to being a great opportunity for students and faculty to discuss their research, the Retreat plays a fundamental role in fostering the feeling of community which we believe is unique to the Harvard Virology Program.

This year, the Harvard Virology Retreat was held at the Exeter Inn, in Exeter, NH on September 9-10th, 2011. Dr. Vincent Racaniello from Columbia University was invited as our keynote speaker. In lieu of a scientific presentation, he recorded a TWiV (This Week in Virology) podcast from our retreat location with Drs. David Knipe and Priscilla Yang, and Philip Kranzusch, a G5 student. The TWiV podcast and Dr. Racaniello’s blog entry on our retreat can be found at these links:
