511 keV Collimators for Gamma Cameras

Document created May 28, 1996; Version 2 modified August 16, 1996

Discussion

The evolution of gamma camera gantry design has allowed for the use of heavier collimators for 511 keV imaging. As can be seen from the tables below, a common design specification has been arrived at by most vendors. This common design has a hole depth of about 75 mm. Septal thickness and hole size vary between 1.7-3.0 mm and 2.7-4.0 mm, respectively.
