511 keV Collimated SPECT

ACCEPTANCE TESTS AND QC

Positron-emitting isotopes to use for 511 keV testing:

¹⁸F (need cyclotron within 200 miles)
⁶⁸Ge (270.8 d) - analogous to ⁵⁷Co used for ^99mTc QC
²²Na (has a 1.2 MeV photon)
²⁶Al (only small amounts available and very expensive)

Other isotopes to use for high-energy testing:

⁸⁵Sr (64.84 d) ; has a 514 keV gamma-ray with a 98.3% abundance
^87mSr (2.81 h) ; has a 388 keV gamma-ray with a 82.3% abundance
