History: 75 y/o female with non-small cell lung cancer for initial staging.

Findings:

• 5.5 cm mass in the right lower lobe
• Central photopenia consistent with central necrosis
• Oobtaining a peripheral biopsy sample where activity is greatest would increase diagnostic yield
• Satellite nodule in the same lobe makes this a T4 lesion
• Involvement of the adjacent spine is questionable based on FDG imaging but the spine is probably spared
• Apparent vertebral involvement of bone likely due to blooming effect from adjacent intense activity

TNM Classification: T4 N0 M0
