History: 72 year old female with non-small cell lung cancer for staging.

Findings:

• Large mass involving the right hilum
• Extends into the mediastinum with adjacent mediastinal adenopathy
• FDG-PET demonstrates intense activity within this mass and in the mediastinum
• A seperable focus in the right superior mediastinum
• Uptake dose not extend to the contralateral mediastinum limiting the stage to a IIIA.
