History: 51 year old male with history of thyroid cancer now presenting with non-small cell cancer in the right lung on biopsy for initial staging.
Findings:
- Intense activity seen within a right upper lobe mass consistent with malignancy
- Activity also seen within a right hilar lymph node consitent with lymphatic spread
- Possible additional small nodule with moderate uptake seen abutting the major fissure
- Additional nodules seen on CT do not display abnormal uptake to suggest additional sites of disease, limiting stage of disease
- Some of the non FDG-avid nodules measure upto 1.5 cm, which if malignant should show high uptake
- Uptake in the neck at approximately the C2/C3 level could be related to degenerative disease at the facet joint
TNM Classification: T1 N1 MO
