History: 73-year-old male with 1.8cm solitary pulmonary nodule on chest CT for initial evaluation of malignancy and staging.

Findings:

• 1.8 cm SPN seen on CT demonstrating intense FDG activity
• SUV of the nodule was 4.6 consistent with a malignant nodule
• No additional sites of disease or metastatic spread were identified
• Subsequent lobectomy and pathology revealed non-small cell lung cancer.
