Diagnosis

These two equilibrium radionuclide ventriculograms show an arrhythmia! Since gated studies show a composite average cycle, it is usually not possible to display an arrhythmia. However, a special image collection protocol was used.

These two patients were part of a protocol testing the utility of periodic premature paced beats on ventricular function. The patients were paced with a repetitive pattern of four normal beats followed by a premature beat. The gated collection covered all five beats -- the four normally timed beats and the premature beat. Notice that the images are collected with a very small image matrix, 32x32, allowing a large number of frames.
