Case 12

Clinical History:

A 71 year old man presented with some lethargy and a small amount of weight loss. Chest X-ray and subsequently chest CT showed a large left upper lobe lesion. At mediastinoscopy there were aortopulmonary window and right paratracheal lymph nodes which were positive for non-small cell carcinoma.

He had a good response to chemotherapy with a greater than 20% decrease in the size of the left upper lobe mass. Restaging 6 months after presentation showed no evidence of distant spread of disease. Repeat CT and fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) imaging with a dual Anger camera system (ADAC Laboratories, Inc.) was performed.
