Findings
Radiographs of the left tibia demonstrated a markedly
sclerotic and deformed bone consistent with cicatrix formation. Bone scintigrams showed diffusely increased uptake of
Tc-99m MDP involving the distal tibia, with several areas of locally increased
uptake, particularly at the most distal aspect of the tibia. Gallium scintigraphy showed no increased uptake to
suggest active osteomyelitis.
